Whether you’re looking for a quick gift idea or a simple project to make next, this simple crochet infinity scarf is just what you need!
We use a medium-weight yarn and a jumbo-sized crochet hook, making it stitch up quickly, and it keeps you super warm. Plus, the best part is that it only involves one stitch and repeating a single round. You’ll finish your crochet infinity scarf in a jiffy, and it’s a breeze to make.
In this easy-to-follow guide, I’ll walk you through the simple steps to crochet this scarf.
About Our 4-Hour Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern
This warm and cozy crochet infinity scarf is worked up in rounds, not rows! This interesting approach makes a double-layer scarf that’s incredibly warm, even with the open, airy nature of using a big hook with small yarn. The pattern is adaptable to different medium-weight yarns, but for me, Red Heart Super Saver Brushed, with its super soft and fuzzy halo, is perfect for this kind of project.

Pattern Notes
This crochet infinity scarf pattern is worked as a big long tube rather than a flat piece, and sewn together to form a big loop in the final steps.
By using an oversized hook, we’re able to finish this scarf in a matter of hours, but we don’t have to compromise on warmth. Crocheting a big long tube makes this scarf double-layered so there’s no chance of breeze getting through.
Check your gauge and if you need to adjust hook sizes to obtain the gauge, then do so.
You can use any medium-weight (#4) yarn you have on hand, but again, check your gauge and make any necessary adjustments to your hook size so the scarf comes out the right size.
Gauge: 9 sts x 9 rows = 4″ worked single crochet in the round.
Not sure what gauge is? Check out our comprehensive guide to learn all about it here.
Finished Size
56″ head circumference; about 6.5″ wide
It’s a stretchy scarf, so you’ll notice the circumference will increase a bit when you wear it.
Easy Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern
Round 1: With color A, ch 28. Being careful not to twist it, join with a slst to the first chain to form a ring. Ch 1 and sc in each ch. Don’t join. Continue working in a spiral.
Round 2: Sc in each st to the end of the round. (28 sts)
A digital pattern is available in our shop so you can print out the pattern

Repeat: Rep the last round until your work measures 28” from the starting edge. In the last stitch of the last round, break color A and join color B.

Continue with the same repeat (round 2) using color B until work measures 56″ from the starting edge.
In the last stitch of the last round, slst in the next stitch to help correct the jog from crocheting in a spiral.
Continue to the assembly instructions.
Crochet Infinity Scarf Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Fasten off leaving a tail that’s about 12″ long.

Step 2: With a yarn needle, seam the two ends together. You can use any seaming technique you’re comfortable with. There’s really no right or wrong way. Whatever looks best to you!
I seamed across the scarf catching both loops of the stitch for all layers first, and followed up by seaming in just the visible outer loops to pull the ends together even more. It’s not perfect, but it’s easy to hide the seam when you wear it.
Experiment and do what looks best to you!
