This crochet golf club cover is about to make someone the best-dressed golfer on the course. The Harlequin Golf Club Cover works up quickly and makes the most thoughtful handmade gift for the golfer in your life.

Whether you’re picking up a hook for a Father’s Day project or you’re always on the lookout for a handmade gift with real personality, you’ll love how this one comes together. The bold two-color diamond pattern looks impressive, but the construction is straightforward — and very fun to crochet.

About Our Crochet Golf Club Cover Pattern

This crochet golf club cover is a quick, satisfying make for anyone who wants to gift something truly unique to the golfer they love — just in time for Father’s Day. It’s an intermediate-level pattern worked in the round, so the bold diagonal diamond design comes together without any complicated seaming. The ribbed neck gives the cover a clean, classic look and keeps it snug on a standard driver, while the two-color harlequin body adds serious style points. Finish it off with an optional coordinating pom-pom for an extra touch of personality, and you’ve got a handmade crochet golf club cover that will get compliments every single round.

Recommended Supplies

  • About 250 yds; Medium-Weight (#4) Yarn
    • Color A: 150 yds
    • Color B: 100 yds
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook (cover)
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook (band)
  • Pompom maker (optional)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

For this crochet golf club cover, I used Malabrigo Worsted in Natural and Azul Profundo — and honestly, the yarn made this project extra fun for me. Malabrigo Worsted is one of my all-time favorite yarns, and the rich color depth it gives that harlequin pattern is just beautiful.

The good news is that this pattern is pretty flexible when it comes to yarn substitution, so feel free to pick whatever medium-weight yarn you love best. Just be sure to check your gauge and adjust your hook size if needed — that’s the key to making sure your cover fits a driver the way it should.

Harlequin Crochet Golf Club Cover Pattern Notes

This crochet golf club cover uses the harlequin stitch worked in the round to create that bold two-color diamond pattern — it’s one of those stitches that’s genuinely fun to work and looks far more impressive than the effort it takes. The ribbed bands are worked in rows and crocheted directly in place, so the whole cover comes together as one continuous piece with no assembly required. It’s an intermediate-level pattern, which means you’ll want a little crochet experience under your belt, but nothing about it is fussy or frustrating. Set aside an afternoon and you’ll have a finished crochet golf club cover ready to gift — or keep for yourself.

Finished Size: When finished, this crochet golf club cover will fit most drivers. It’s a little on the large side for a fairway wood, but will still work.

Gauge: First 5 rounds = 3″ diameter
