The construction is straightforward and flows naturally from the base to the top, with no extra seaming required.

Recommended Supplies
- About 150 yds; Lightweight (#3) Yarn
- 3.5 mm Crochet Hook
- Stitch Marker
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
I’ve made these cute little ruffled baby booties with several different yarns and they all turned out perfect. The red booties pictured were crocheted with a lightweight hand-dyed yarn from my local yarn shop, and I just. adore how the rich color plays with the ruffled pattern.

Feel free to experiment with different lightweight (#3) yarns for this pattern—it’s very flexible and forgiving. I haven’t found a yarn yet that didn’t work or that I didn’t love, just be sure to check your gauge and adjust your hook size if needed. While lightweight or DK yarn works best, some lighter medium weight (#4) yarns can also be a great option, like Red Heart Unforgettable, which is one of my favorite yarns to use for these booties.

Crochet Baby Booties Pattern Notes
These baby booties are worked in the round with fun textured stitches, making them a relaxing and enjoyable project. The pattern is written for size 0–3 months, and gauge is important to get the best fit, so take a moment to check it before you start. A stitch marker can be helpful for keeping track of rounds, especially when working the sole and shaping the bootie.
You can use any lightweight (#3) yarn you like. Just remember to check your gauge and adjust your hook size if needed.
Gauge: Sole measures 3.25” from toe to heel.
Finished Size: When finished, these booties will fit most babies 0-3 months. They will measure about 2” wide and 3” long once finished.
