Recommended Supplies

  • About 1,549 yds; Bulky weight (#5) Yarn
    • Color A: 634 yds
    • Color B: 600 yds
    • Color C: 315 yds
  • 12 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Bernat Maker yarn is what makes this blanket truly special. The cotton-acrylic blend gives it the perfect weight and drape for a summer throw, and the color options are seriously fun — you’re bound to find a palette that feels completely right for your space or the person you’re making it for. This is one of those yarns that really does make the project what it is.

If you need to substitute, reach for a bulky weight (#5) yarn — and if you’re in a warmer climate, a cotton blend will serve you best for breathability. Whatever you choose, be sure to check your gauge and adjust your hook size as needed to hit the finished dimensions. One thing worth noting: the pattern intentionally calls for a 12mm hook, which is much larger than this yarn typically requires — that’s the secret to getting that light, airy drape that makes this blanket perfect for warmer weather.
